We’re excited to announce that construction on the Miracle Drive Stream Restoration Project is moving along smoothly!
Stream Restoration on the Plum Creek Drive portion of the project is now complete, and construction crews have demobilized. Additional planting of trees and shrubs is planned for the fall when conditions are typically optimal for planting.
Outfall stabilization at Miracle Drive began in August and is currently underway. Construction is planned to continue throughout the fall and winter, with planting of trees and shrubs to occur in spring 2026. Work has focused on the access point from Miracle Drive, but is planned to shift to the Plum Creek Court as the project continues to move forward on schedule.
As we move into the fall season, we look forward to sharing progress updates with the community.
Recent Progress
Since late July, the following milestones have been achieved on the outfall stabilization at the Miracle Drive project:
Mobilization and Site Preparation
- Tree protection fencing and erosion controls are installed and maintained.
- Tree care and selective removals were completed to prepare the project area.
Stream Restoration
- Several sections of the stream channel have been restored with new grading to stabilize banks and improve flow.
- Stream features known as cascades have been installed to reduce erosion and improve water quality.
- Crews have now completed more than 200 feet of restoration work along the stream corridor.
Looking Ahead
Residents can expect the following activities in September and October:
- Work will shift to the Plum Creek Court access point, with construction continuing downstream.
- Erosion and sediment controls will remain in place and be maintained.
- In the spring, we will start planting native trees, shrubs, and grasses to restore habitat and promote soil stability within the stream corridor.

Are there plans to conduct tours of the project? I am reluctant to visit site on my own for fear of trespass and damage to appears to be ground reseeding under straw protective cover.

Thank you for your inquiry about the project. As stream bank grading is finalized, grass seed is placed beneath natural coconut fiber matting. Fall is a great time for this native grass seed to germinate and sprout. Grass will grow through the fiber matting, which will eventually biodegrade over the coming years as roots from grass, trees, and shrubs help to stabilize the soil. The Plum Creek Drive site received similar matting. If you’d like to see what that looks like, we encourage you to drive past 8300 Plum Creek Drive and take a look from the road. Additional trees and shrubs will be planted to help develop the riparian buffer.
We will host a post construction site walk later this fall/early winter depending on weather and the pace of construction. We will notify the community about this walk and hope to see you there.
