What to Expect
Construction-related impacts to be aware of in the coming weeks.Clearing and Access Path Establishment
- Following a recent site walk with Montgomery County’s arborist to evaluate trees within the construction area, selective tree removal will commence early next week to facilitate access to the incised outfall channel east of Miracle Drive.
- Pruning will also occur to minimize the impact resulting from construction activities on trees that are within the construction area but are not being removed.
- Material harvested from trees will be used on-site for in-stream structures and wildlife habitats. Removed trees will be replanted on-site.
- Residents will likely hear chainsaw noise during the tree clearing process. Construction equipment including wood chippers will be used to facilitate this process.
Construction Entrance Establishment
- Temporary construction access points will be established first along Miracle Drive, then between two private properties at the end of Plum Creek Court, along an existing County storm drain easement.
- Construction parking, staging and stockpiling will occur just beyond the access point off of Plum Creek Court.
- Several large trucks (“low boys”) will bring equipment to the sites for a day or two, followed by dump trucks bringing mulch material for the access path within the first month.
- Traffic may temporarily slow down and sometimes require stop-and-slow signs, which the construction crew will manage.
Outfall Stabilization Work
- Outfall stabilization work will commence following the path and access establishment described above, likely in late July or early August.
- Stabilization work is expected to continue into the Fall.
- Interested parties are welcome to drive past recently begun outfall stabilization work in the 8300 Block of Plum Creek Drive to get an idea of what outfall construction work will look like.
Plum Creek Stream Restoration
- The stabilization of impaired stream channels is ongoing on private property along Plum Creek Drive, adjacent to the stream reach.
- Work along this stream reach is expected to continue for approximately one month, followed by the planting of native tree species.
General Construction Reminders
- Protocols restricting access to the construction site are in place to protect residents and project teams. Any questions or concerns related to work on-site should be directed to GreenVest via email at info@GreenMiracleDrive.com or phone/text message at (240) 690-5848.
- Construction will occur regularly on weekdays, during the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., and will comply with all County noise regulations.
- No work will occur on weekends or County holidays unless permission is coordinated with proximate homeowners and the County.
- At various points during construction, residents may hear equipment noise, including backup alerts.
